Joplin is the fourth largest metropolitan area in Missouri, and is the retail, manufacturing and medical hub for a surrounding area encompassing parts of four states. With a population of 48,000 residents, the daytime population of the City expands to approximately 270,000. Joplin is consistently rated as one of the lowest cost of living areas in the United States.
