Lieutenant Delmar Haase- Patrol Division Commander (417) 623-3131 ext. 408
Lt. Delmar Haase is assigned to the Patrol Division. He has 6 Sergeants that each supervise a team or squad of officers. Each team usually has one Corporal and five or six officers. Sergeant John C. Jensen supervises the "Traffic" team. Their main function is to identify "High Accident Locations" and find ways to reduce the number of traffic crashes in those areas. Yes, this usually means writing tickets to violators. However, they also spend a lot of time working with the engineering department to develop streets and signs that will also reduce the number of accidents in the City. If you have a traffic concern, need a parade permit, or have any kind of traffic question, feel free to call Sergeant Jensen at 417-623-3131, ext. 418. The Special Response Team (SRT) is a part of the Patrol Division. It is made up of 20 regular officers with special training in high risk arrests, hostage situations, and search and rescue. Whenever an emergency such as these occurs, all members of the SRT are paged and activated. They can respond immediately to the location of the incident. The Department has four K-9 units. These dogs are used to defend their handler and to search for drugs, people, and bombs.
