Graffiti Abatement

The Joplin Police Dept is pleased to announce a new graffiti abatement program! The goal of this program is to ensure quick removal of graffiti to discourage its appearance. In addition, citizens who participate in this program will no longer be responsible for removing the graffiti!.

Program details:

The Joplin Police R.A.P.I.D. Team will keep a record of citizens and business owners who have reported that they have been the victims of graffiti. We will then contact each victim to obtain permission to remove the graffiti. All that is required of you is to sign the permission waiver form. It's that simple! This service is provided at no cost to victims.

There are two primary goals for this program. The first is to identify and prosecute vandals responsible for the graffiti through data collection and analysis. The second is to relieve property owners who have been victimized of the responsibility associated with removing the graffiti. To report graffiti, please contact Cpl.
