Testing for police officer in the City of Joplin usually occurs twice a year; April and September. The testing procedure is as follows, however, it may be modified at any time without notice.
All candidates are graded on the above listed tests and their education and experience as a police officer. Those officers passing (70% or better) are placed on an eligibility list. As openings come available, the position will be offered to the candidate highest on the list. In order to test for police officer, the candidate must be at least 20 years of age and be enrolled or have completed the Missouri, P.O.S.T. approved police academy. Exceptions will be made for those officers planning to enroll, however, they will not be offered a position until they complete the academy. They will simply be on the eligibility list. For further questions or an application, contact our recruiting Officer: Sergeant Ken Kennedy at (417) 623-3131 ext 411 or you may email him at KKennedy@joplinpolice.org. |
